WIRE TENSION METERS

Cooper Instruments offers a wide variety of wire tension meters for measuring the tension on aircraft cables, strapping materials and guy wires. The cables or material must be flexible. Tension ranges run from 0-1000 grams all the way up to 0 to 10,000 lbs. Cooper may require you to send a sample of your cable to us to insure a proper calibration.

STX Digital Strap Tension Meter

The STX digital strap tension meter is designed to measure strap tension up to 1000 pounds. The strap material and size may be selected from the menu. The instrument automatically adjusts calibration to the correct setting. Real-time minimum and maximum values display along with current tension values. Up to 8 calibrations may be programmed into the instrument. The STX features adjustable dampening rates from 0.017 sec. to 1.7 sec. Available options for the STX include: 0-5 Vdc or 4-20 mA output with software-definable ending sequences, RS232, Winwedge Software.

The STXM-2000 includes calibrations for Poly and PET strapping with thicknesses from .020” – .055” and Steel strapping with thicknesses between .017” – .044”. All other STX-Models are calibrated specifically to your strapping type(s) and size(s) for greatest accuracy.
