Our line of mechanical (dial indicator) force gages are best suited where an inexpensive gage is needed or a digital display is not required. The mechanical gages typically provide less accuracy and have fewer features than a mechanical force gage. Dynamometers are typically used for weighing or material handling applications where knowing the weight of an item being lifted is critical. Mechanical dynamometers may be less expensive than electronic ones or should be used where an electronic gage is not desirable.

AP 3000 Dial Mechanical Dynamometer

Virtually limitless as a tension indicator, this AP Dynamometer adapts to a variety of applications. The steel shackles at either end of the steel beam of the Dynamometer serve as attachment points for rope, wire, cable or other materials to be tested. As force is applied to this instrument, it causes a steel beam to deflect which is translated into a linear reading. The device is available with either a 5" or 10" diameter dial with readings in the ranges of 500 pounds to 20,000 pounds. However, the 10" dynamometer is availabe up to 100,000 pounds. Units on all models may be scaled to pounds, kilograms, or newtons.
